Microphone

Please have a wireless lavalier (lapel) microphone with fresh batteries available. Also have a handheld microphone available for audience questions and for back up.

Stage

For audiences of 50 or more, Susan prefers to have a 2-3 foot riser on the stage and please include steps off the front. No podium please. Use a dark (preferably black) backdrop to accentuate Susan’s face and body, eliminating distraction. Please have the front row of the audience started no further back than 5 feet from the stage. This allows Susan to connect with her attendees.

 

 

Lighting

 

                 A bright stage will keep the audience focused on

           the front of the room with no spotlights on Susan

           please. Also keep the house lights over the

           audience on full.

 

 

Seating Preference

 

Susan prefers a stage with theater style seating. However, if theater style seating is not available, seats should be arranged in a wide U shaped configuration to allow her to move in and out of the audience.

Sound Check

 

Susan typically arrives to the meeting room 30 min. prior to the entire presentation for A/V check. It is requested that someone be present during the first 5 min. of the presentation to double check that things are working properly.

 

Susan shall receive the master of any video or audio tape made. An addendum to the agreement is required and the cost of either will be 20% of Susan's speaker fee. Please no unauthorized video or picture taking in the audience. This is a distraction to the speaker and the audience.

 

For large corporate and organizational venues of over 70 people, standing room is better than empty chairs. It raises the energy level. It is best to have just enough seats for your expected attendance than it is to have rows of empty chairs. Consider it this way, you want people to walk away saying, “The room was packed with standing room only.” That is certainly better than them saying, “Attendance was low.”
